The Full Story

This project holds a special place in our hearts. This was Valhalla Door's first garage door remodel installation. Our customer called us frustrated that she couldn't operate one of her doors, so she was wanting to replace them. We gave the homeowner multiple options and she chose a beautiful set of DoorLink 3640 garage doors in walnut with Long Panel glass in the top section with Stockton inserts. She also chose to replace the failing opener on the right garage door looking out with a LiftMaster 87504-267. During the estimate we advised to change the spring system from extension to torsion and the homeowner agreed this was what she wanted, less spring changes and safer overall.

How We Transformed this Overland Park Home With A Garage Door, Step by Step

A look at every phase of this project, from the first knock to the final close.

Before, the exterior

To start with, on arrival, the left door looking out wouldn't open. Nothing new but the surprise was when the bottom section of that door snapped in half when we lifted it to put it in the truck.

At this point, we were about to place the new spring pads to convert the old extension springs to new torsion springs. The homeowner opted to go with a torsion spring system to extend the life of her springs and for the added safety.
